Interventional Cardiologist
Dr. Rodney Rhinehart received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine here in Columbia, SC. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at University of South Carolina School of Medicine in which he served as Chief Resident. He also completed his general cardiology fellowship at University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he was the Chief Cardiology fellow. Dr. Rhinehart completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine, Dr. Rhinehart’s professional affiliations include the Medical Journal Club of South Carolina, American Medical Association, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, and the Columbia Medical Society.
Laura C. Hawsey, ACNP
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Laura Hawsey received her master’s and her bachelor’s degrees in nursing from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Board Certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she is professionally affiliated with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Capitol Nurse Practitioner Group. She currently precepts Nurse Practitioner students and has been an Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor. She has also assisted with Advance Trauma Life Support. Laura, who was a trauma critical care nurse for 17 years prior to getting her NP degree, has been a nurse practitioner with Dr. Rhinehart for 10 years. She currently lives in Irmo with her husband and two sons.
