Dr. Kelly C. Harris is a General Surgeon practicing with Providence Surgical Associates in Columbia, SC. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, and completed his internship and residency at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining Providence Health, Dr. Harris was a General Surgeon with the Jackson Clinic in Tennessee performing a broad range of cases including breast, colorectal, hemodialysis access, vascular, endocrine, trauma, robotics, foregut, and more. Dr. Harris is trained and experienced in robotic surgery and is looking forward to pursuing the development of a robotic surgery program at Providence. Prior to his role at Jackson Clinic, he participated in multiple medical mission trips including Guadalajara, Mexico, Managua, Nicaragua, and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico}. When not in the office or operating room, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with his family, running, cooking, soccer, and yoga. Dr. Harris is fluent in Spanish.
Rotated on busy general surgery and surgical subspecialty services at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Saint Paul University Hospital, Zale-Lipshy University Hospital, North Texas Veterans Affairs Hospital and Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Received training on a breadth of surgery cases including general surgery, endocrine, colorectal, endoscopy, minimally invasive, oncology, breast, transplant, thoracic, vascular, pediatric, acute care surgery, trauma and burns. Heavy involvement in the education of medical students and fellow residents.
